Hi, all! Thanks for sticking with me. It's been a busy few months, but
A lot! First, the main black & white story was complete when I launched the Kickstarter campaign. Or so I thought! After re-reading and editing it, I decided that it needed an extra few pages to make the story flow better, so now it's 23 pages long instead of the usual 20.
In the middle of all that, I was asked by my pals at TRIBUTE GAMES here in Montréal to work on their new video game, Marvel COSMIC INVASION. It's a 90's-style retro beat-em-up arcade game featuring a whole bunch of Marvel Comics characters, and I drew and coloured all of the cutscene art for the game, as well as some animation keyframes and moves for a couple of the characters. It was a ton of fun but also took up a lot of time. The game is out in less than a month, though, so please check it out!
And if that wasn't enough, I've been knee-deep in RUNNING A COMPANY. As you may know, DEATH TRANSIT TANAGER is published by LETHAL COMICS, which is a company I started with my buddy and studio-mate Andy Belanger (MOTHER TRUCKER). We've been slowly expanding our small publishing line with other comics we think are cool, like Wes Craig's THUNDERHEAD and the upcoming TERRORAT by Daniel Sawblade. I love doing all of this but it turns out that managing a small publishing operation is a lot of work. We're getting there, though, and I'm excited to be putting out more creator-owned comics!
DEATH TRANSIT MAGPIE is done! I finished drawing, colouring and lettering the 8-page backup story and now I'm just assembling it for press. Which means I'll have a PDF version ready for you all NEXT WEEK!
I'm putting together the artist notes for the sketchbook so that digital copies of that can go out at the same time, but yeah! NEXT WEEK! I'll be closing up the Backerkit orders, charging credit cards, and sending out all the digital rewards!
Apologies for the sparse communication through all of this. Completing the book and getting it to you has always been foremost in my mind. It'll be at the printer shortly, and then we'll start sending out all the physical rewards in December (yes, commissions, too)!
So stay tuned! I'll be sending out another update when stuff starts getting delivered. And I'm in the writing stages of DEATH TRANSIT 4, which should hopefully come together faster than this one did. :)

Daniel Sawblade is an amazing illustrator and this is his first-ever comic book–about a mutant rat who terrorizes a redneck town. It's grisly and hilarious and feels like an underground grindhouse movie come to life. Show him some love so he can make more of this stuff!
